Hi, I’m Tiffany Ludwicki, a Registered dental hygienist who obtained an honors diploma from Dalhousie University in 2008. I am a current board director of the Canadian Dental Hygienist Association and past president of the Newfoundland and Labrador Dental Hygienist Association.
For the past 20 years I suffered with memory loss, brain fog, fatigue and thinning hair. Regardless of my symptoms, my medical tests confirmed that everything was fine, and I was to accept that what I was feeling was normal. Luckily, I continued to seek solutions to my issues, and I began eliminating chemicals, eating more local fresh food, made small changes to my lifestyle, and am now living a more fulfilling life!
This change in my happiness made me question my work — why did some of my dental hygiene patients have remarkable results, and others needed more invasive treatment? Maybe they too had systemic issues compromising their recovery?
With over 10 years experience in a periodontal (gum disease) office, I began to realize that no matter how transformative client outcomes were, there was more than my dental hygiene services needed in order to achieve long term oral and overall health.
So began a journey to bridge the gap between oral and overall health.
Since oral bacteria is a risk factor for heart disease, stroke, diabetes, pneumonia, Alzheirmer’s disease, pre-term low birth weight babies, and possibly up to 50 different illnesses. I wanted to ensure that the mouth was a piece of the puzzle when preventing, diagnosing, treating and maintaining the multitude of chronic and preventable diseases.
In 2018, I obtained an honors certification in wellness coaching from the International Association of Wellness Professionals. I did this in order to help clients improve their health and achieve lasting happiness by supporting them to set realistic goals. I use techniques to connect with the clients basic needs, health challenges, passions and schedule. Once determined, I assist with creating strategies that are not limited to, but may include techniques for handling stress, reducing inflammation, eating a nutritious diet and improving mindset in a non-restrictive manner.
By combining my dental hygiene background with my coaching education, I can fully integrate my passion for disease prevention and health promotion. This is how I came to create my health business, Mind Body Mouth: Because how we eat, think and move, become us!
Thanks again, and I look forward to meeting you in the future.
