Laser therapy, also known as low-level laser or light therapy (LLLT), is the use of light from a low intensity laser diode or an array of Superluminous Diodes to eliminate pain, accelerate healing and decrease inflammation. LLLT is also known as cold laser, low intensity laser therapy or photobiomodulation.
Laser therapy does not heat or cut tissue, unlike high intensity lasers. Many pharmacological treatments mask pain or only address the symptoms of the disease; laser Therapy treats the underlying condition or pathology to promote healing. This means that the treatments are effective and the benefits of laser therapy are long lasting.

Laser treatments can be prescribed by all of the credentialled practitioners in our facility who have completed the BioFlex Laser Certification Program. Your therapy sessions are delivered by our certified laser technicians.
Treatments are typically 45-60 minutes in duration depending on the condition treated.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST FOR TREATMENT?
At Avalon Laser Health, we charge $55 per half hour of treatment, $80 for 45 minutes of treatment and $100 for 60 minutes for each BioFlex Professional LILT unit involved in the treatment. We also have some Laser Treatment Packages where you can purchase 5 treatments at a slightly lesser cost.
WILL MY INSURANCE PAY FOR MY TREATMENTS?

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR A LASER ASSESSMENT?
Discuss your condition with your physician. Bring any results of medical testing that provide information about your condition (X-ray, MRI, blood tests, etc.). Prepare a list of treatment options you have tried. Laser therapy is often covered by your insurance under the treatment plan provided by physiotherapy, massage therapy and acupuncture. Check with your insurer to confirm your coverage and bring a referral if needed.
